The Grey Area Festival
This weekend is the fourth iteration of the Greay Area Festival of “culture through the lens of art and technology”. With speakers and workshops by day, and performances and music in the evenings, the programming ranges from techniques of integrated technology in art, to future facing discussions of the evolution of technology, and economic models for artists.

Victorian Visions: Nineteenth-Century Costume Day
Pull out the crinolines and top hats: The Legion of Honor is kicking off theire exhibit of Victorian artists “Truth and Beauty: The Pre-Raphaelites and the Old Masters” with a day of costumed festivities.

Highly Mixological: A Star Trek Celebration
Chabot Observatory is hosting their 2nd Annual Star Trek adult night with coktails, Klingon classes, film screenings, a Star Trek costume contest (obligatory), and a talk about the junk science in sci-fi by Yvette d’Entremont, aka SciBabe.

The San Francisco Pancakes & Booze Art Show
Together at last: fine art appreciation, booze, and pancakes. Apparently. The Pancakes and Booze Art Show is a pop-up art gallery, bringing together over 100 local artists work, live painting, body painting, craft beers, signature cocktails and, as previously indicated, rather a lot of pancakes.

Mt. Tamalpais Movie Night: Apollo 13
Join Jeffrey Silverman and Kishore Hari from Science VS Cinema for a screening of the 1995 space epic “Apollo 13” and a post-movie discussion of fake science and cinematic trickery.

Nerd Nite East Bay: Key Streetcars, Deep Space Network, Art & Health
A look at the heyday of the East Bay’s “Key System” streetcars, the questions of how we can plan to keep in contact with the robot minions of the future across the vastness of space, and how art therapy can integrate with modern medicine to make us healthier and more creative.

Building a Blockchain Future
