This week’s Curator: Annalee Newitz of Our Opinions Are Correct

It feels like it’s been raining for about a billion years, and this week it’s time to get out from under the clouds and do something new. Unplug from the internet and learn about outer space and San Francisco history. Find a new career with an employer who values diversity, or get involved with community activism. And don’t forget to check out some weird art events. Because there is no change without art!

Penelope Boston from NASA’s Ames Research Center, will give a free, illustrated, non-technical talk on about the unique environments in caves on Earth and on other worlds. Out There
This sounds weird and delightful. Out There is a concept video album and live performance piece by the band Princess. It explores gender, misogyny, sexuality, and today’s political moment. Plus, it goes along with a science fiction movie that Princess promises will “explore the power of the Divine Feminine through collaborations with JD Samson, visual artist Jennifer Meridian, and the band TEEN.” How can you turn that down?
